Why this role matters
The Community Outreach Lawyer/Clinical Supervisor will provide advice casework and community legal education in areas of law relevant to our service with a focus on community outreaches and engagement with our local community. This role includes working into KLCs Health Justice Partnership (HJP) with Prince of Wales Hospital/Eastern Suburbs Mental Health Service and our existing and any new community outreaches. The role also includes supervising evening advice sessions and working into KLCs legal practice.
The position primarily works in the community to ensure access to KLCs service and fostering relationships pathways and collaborations with our local community and community organisations across all aspects of KLCs work. We are looking for an experienced lawyer who has worked in the community before as this role will involve mostly offsite work. The role also helps vulnerable people through our HJP in hospital settings and responding to community needs therefore vaccination clearance will be required.
This position works closely with UNSW Sydney law students teaching them in a best practice clinical legal education model. The role reports to the Deputy/ Director and has no direct reports.
