About you
Drawing on your real-life experience coupled with skills learned through education and training the Peer Wellbeing Navigator will support and represent people impacted by mental illness psychological distress and substance use or addiction.
You will be comfortable to share personal experiences with program consumers within a safe and supported way and will have personal experience of a mental illness or psychological distress and recovery.
Main responsibilities of the role include:
Providing intentional peer support
Providing one on one service navigation and care planning
Facilitating group peer sessions
Capacity building
Supporting engagement with clinical supports
Working alongside other disciplines youll play a key role in our collaborative network fostering a safe and inclusive space for healing and growth.
Enjoy a balanced fortnightly roster with shifts across Thursday to Tuesday including some weekends (ThursFri 11am7pm SatSun 4pm8pm MonTues 11am7pm).
You will also need:
Willingness to work a rotating roster including evenings and weekends
Personal Experience of mental distress and accessing and navigating health services including mental health services
Certificate IV/Diploma in Mental Health AOD or tertiary qualification in social science OR 1 year relevant work experience in a peer worker role
100 points of identification and Evidence of right to work in Australia
Drivers Licence
National Police Check
Working with Children Check and NDIS Workers Screening Check
NDIS Workers Orientation Modules free online course
