Civil Engineering II

AECOM Technical Services Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineering II in Middleton WI.

Job responsibilities:

• Apply proven experience to the planning and design of water resources projects including H&H modeling and floodplain mapping stormwater quality modeling flood control projects stormwater treatment site development and transportation-related drainage design.
• Provide engineering review of stormwater and erosion control plans.
• Develop scopes of work and budgets for water resources projects or for water resources components of larger projects.
• Prepare permit applications and pursue approval.
• Develop and formulate cost-effective technical solutions to client problems on assigned projects.
• Prepare construction plans specifications construction cost estimates correspondence and reports with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.
• Communicate and work with other project team members to provide quality service to clients to ensure that all documentation conforms to client/company standards.
• Provide guidance to entry level engineers.
• Collaborate with other groups across AECOM offices.
• Field work may be required on an occasional basis to support land surveyor and construction engineers.
• Participate in client meetings to discuss project requirements explain / defend work etc.
• Guide more junior team members with aspects of their job and may coordinate activities of a small team.
• May telecommute.

Qualifications :

• Candidates must have a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.
• Alternatively the employer will accept a Masters degree in Civil Engineering or related field. 

Position requires experience in:

1. Civil engineering design;
2. Stormwater and floodplain mapping;
3. Hydrologic and hydraulic analysis;
4. Roadway drainage conveyance;
5. Drafting mapping and modeling software: AutoCAD Civil 3D ArcGIS HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS;
6. Water resources modeling programs: PCSWMM EPA-SWMM XPSWMM WinSLAMM HydroCAD or HY-8;
7. Preparing technical reports and related documents with Microsoft Suite programs including Word Excel and PowerPoint; and
8. Passed the NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
