Responsibilities:

• Identify scope and lead complex projects with wide impact across the company.

• Work multi-functionally to align technical initiatives and decisions including product design and other engineering teams.

• Contribute to the continued development of a long-term technical strategy for iOS.

• Apply technical expertise to decision making demonstrating an analytical approach to identifying constraints and developing effective solutions.

• Solve hard engineering and user experience problems solving them in an elegant and seamless manner.

• Take ownership of features and areas of the mobile application that will affect millions of users.

• Identify gaps in our systems ideate solutions and help steer the execution of the solution.

• Work with Product Managers and UX designers on product feature requirements and estimation

• Code Reviews of peers in the same team and cross-team to deliver best-in-class code quality.

• Own mobile features that deliver critical values to Zillows partners.

Who you are

Mandatory Skills:

• Strong OO programming experience: Swift Objective-C.

• Experience working with REST APIs

• Performance and scalability in consumer apps at scale: instrumentation startup time optimization rendering performance memory profiling and safe concurrency for feed/detail-heavy screens.

• Testing discipline: snapshot testing for SwiftUI unit and integration tests for view models and networking layers

• Expert in software development domain and principles including design patterns code structure programming languages continuous integration and deployment architecture.

• Experience in setting technical direction planning and successfully completing large projects that involve multiple teams. Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate across teams and organizations.

• Ability to lead and work closely with other engineers and individuals in BE roles product and design across various fields and subject areas.

• Ability to break down complex projects into components or achievements that can easily be picked up by other engineers.

• Excellent communication skills both written and oral.

• Experience with Agile development processes.

• Ability to mentor and coach Jr developers.

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of GraphQL APIs

• Knowledge of tools like Apollo Codegen Schema Introspection

• Familiarity with A/B testing frameworks event taxonomy and guardrails to keep UI performant under instrumentation.

• Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools to boost productivity while maintaining code quality.
