Internship Sustainable Factory Planning (d/f/m)

within Development of an overall materiality based evaluation approach for electrical energy usage for advanced factory planning and sustainability assessment.

Your location

For CTC GmbH in Stade we are looking for students for practical assignments (internships) the topic can subsequently be continued in the form of a bachelors or master thesis. The CTC GmbH is a wholly owned subsidiary of Airbus Operations GmbH. CTC is Germanys leading centre for research and development in the field of design and production of large and complex CFRP components; with an international reputation as an expert for process development series readiness and production optimisation. The focus of the CTCs work is the development of series technologies for the production and assembly of CFRP components in aircraft the CTC you can contribute to various projects in your area of focus and have a great deal of creative freedom. Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Literature research on relevant topics and requirements analysis

  • Identification of the necessary metrics for electrical energy consumption and baseline for defining Indicator

  • Definition and evaluation of Indicator calculation and rating

  • Implementation of the functions in the digital process chain

  • Validation of the Indicator in the modelfactory and a real process chain at Airbus

  • Regular professional exchange with colleagues in workshops and tech sessions

  • Insight and adaptation of currently used LCA and factory planning approaches


Desired skills and qualifications

  • Enrolled full-time student in the area of mechanical / informatic / mathematic / aerospace engineering / software engineering or an equivalent field of study.
  • Ideally experience in programming languages (C Python) experience within neural networks (training and programming) basic knowledge of electrical engineering

  • First experiences in sustainability rating and calculation

  • High intrinsic motivation teamwork and communication skills and ability to work independently and on your own responsibility

  • Entrepreneurial thinking and acting

  • Willingness to pass on own competences in a team and to exchange skills with each other

  • Fluent in English and preferably good German skills.
