Job Summary
Were looking for a skilled and proactive Senior Backend Engineer to join our Operations UI teaman integral part of our Control-Center platform. This platform enables our customers to perform daily operations on behalf of their end users including managing transactions balances and cards. Youll help build and evolve the backend services that power these workflows working in a global cloud-first fintech environment thats landing major clients and driving innovation.
What Youll Do
- Design and implement backend services that integrate with internal APIs to support operational features in the Control-Center.
- Translate business and technical requirements into scalable secure backend solutions.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers product managers and platform teams to deliver high-quality services.
- Contribute to system design architecture discussions and documentation.
- Apply secure coding practices and performance optimisation techniques.
- Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge sharing across the team.
- Participate in code reviews testing and continuous improvement of engineering standards.
- Demonstrates strong technical knowledge to interpret requirements and contribute to system design.
- Applies backend development expertise using Golang REST GraphQL and AWS.
- Collaborates across teams to deliver backend features aligned with product goals.
- Contributes to design documentation and validates alignment with non-functional requirements.
- Applies secure coding practices and performance tuning to ensure reliability and scalability.
- Supports junior engineers through informal mentoring and technical guidance.
This is a remote position. A remote position does not require job duties be performed within proximity of a Visa office location. Remote positions may be required to be present at a Visa office with scheduled notice. #LI-Remote
Qualifications :
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field.
- 3 or more years of experience in backend development ideally in cloud-native environments.
- Level B2 or above in English
- Proficiency in 1 programming language (e.g.: Golang Java NodeJS) RESTful APIs and exposure to GraphQL.
- Experience working with AWS or similar cloud platforms (e.g.: GCP Azure).
- Ability to interpret requirements and translate them into system designs.
- Strong understanding of secure coding practices and performance optimisation.
- Experience contributing to design documentation and validating alignment with requirements.
- Comfortable mentoring junior engineers and collaborating across teams.
- Familiarity with non-functional requirements (e.g. scalability reliability security).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with frontend technologies (e.g.: React Typescript) working as Fullstack Developer
- Experience working in microservices architecture.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and containerisation tools like Docker.
- Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and observability tools.
- Ability to lead design reviews and contribute to architectural discussions.
Soft skills
- Energy and Experience: 3 years of backend development experience in cloud-native environments.
- Challenge the Status Quo: Ability to identify technical gaps and propose scalable solutions.
- Language Expertise: Proficiency in Golang and experience with RESTful APIs exposure to GraphQL is a plus.

- Partnership: Strong collaboration skills and ability to work across engineering and product teams.
