Job Summary

We are currently seeking aKitchen Assistant to join our North Williamsburg School location. This role supports the Head Chef in the day-to-day kitchen operations through the conscientious application of Kids & Company standards to achieve our mission statement:to provide the highest quality primary and back-up childcare services conveniently located near our childrens parents place of work. We aim to assist corporations in creating a healthy work/life balance.

Essential Responsibilities:

Assist with light food preparation and setting up classroom food bins and taking the food to the classroom
Wash and sanitize dishes cookware and kitchen equipment.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.
Perform scheduled cleaning of kitchen appliances cupboards drawers and surfaces in accordance with food safety and sanitation standards.
Ensure dishes are correctly placed in designated areas both pre- and post-wash.
Dry equipment thoroughly and store it safely after washing.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Chef.

Qualifications & Requirements:

2 years of experience in a kitchen or dishwashing role preferably in a high-volume environment.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Current Food Handler Certification is mandatory.
Physically capable of standing for extended periods and lifting to 45 pounds frequently.
Strong attention to detail excellent organizational skills and a reliable team player.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Must provide two pieces of valid government-issued ID.
Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
