Senior Counter Fraud Advisor Wellington
The Serious Fraud Office (SFO) is a highly specialised government department whose mission is to disrupt and deter serious complex fraud through prevention investigation and prosecution. We take pride in the work we do to keep New Zealand safe from fraud and corruption.
We employ a talented team of lawyers forensic accountants investigators and electronic forensic counter fraud and policy experts to do just that and importantly we have a small corporate services team that supports our operational teams. About the Role
As part of the SFOs Counter Fraud Centre team and reporting to our Principal Counter Fraud Advisor you will apply your fraud financial crime or risk management experience and work with stakeholders across the public sector to raise awareness and build capability in countering fraud and corruption. You will develop and deliver a range of counter fraud products and services perform fraud capability and risk assessments undertake control testing and provide counter fraud advice to public sector agencies and other organisations. You will work in a highly collaborative team take the lead on some initiatives and projects and provide guidance to colleagues.
About you
To be successful in this role you have a career in consultancy-based risk advisory or risk management or assurance and you can demonstrate and articulate your financial crime knowledge or experience that spans the areas of integrity compliance policy risk management and investigations. Specific exposure to fraud prevention strategies plans processes and interventions is essential. You will have a comprehensive understanding of and will have worked with or alongside the New Zealand public sector. To be an effective consultant you have proven capability to establish and maintain optimal stakeholder relationships and are an effective influencer and are an accomplished facilitator of large groups and have experience in the design and delivery of workshops webinars and other learning formats. You can research use data perform detailed analysis and deliver advice and recommendations in a succinct and effective manner produce engaging and robust reports and have ability to quickly understand facts and complexities to form sound and effective advice and can speak confidently on and lead effective meetings at a strategic and operational level.
