Job Summary

Join our team at Keolis Amey Metrolink (KAM) the largest light rail network in the UK!

Were looking for a driven Resource Delivery Manager to take the leadof day-to-day service delivery across our Driver Operations this pivotal role youll provide hands-on operational leadership across all resource delivery areas ensuring services run smoothly safely and efficiently.

Youll also take the lead on Business Resilience and Continuity Plans making sure were always prepared responsive and able to keep our people and customers moving no matter what comes our way. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact at the heart of a critical frontline operation.

Key accountabilities will include

  • Effectively lead and support the Resource Delivery team managing all aspects of people performance development engagement and employee relations.
  • Own and manage post-roster overtime allocation ensuring alignment with agreed budgets cost targets and reporting requirements.
  • Lead on the delivery and ongoing development of the resource plan working with key stakeholders to minimise service disruption and maximise operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to building and maintaining a high-performing team through clear objectives standards competencies and regular performance review.
  • Provide strategic direction through the delivery of continuous improvement plans and support key projects across the Driver Operations area.
  • Act as the first point of escalation for the Resource Controllers Driver Operations Managers and Driver Team Managers offering day-to-day operational support.
  • Lead the Service Delivery call and ensure timely and consistent communication of service information across the team and wider driver community.
  • Oversee resource management during disruption ensuring effective decisions around people and train movements to maintain service continuity.
  • Drive an inclusive and customer-centric culture promoting zero tolerance to unwanted behaviours and embedding just culture and zero harm principles.

  • Significant experience in leading motivating and developing operational teams including responsibility for recruitment training performance management and fostering a positive inclusive team culture.
  • Proven ability to manage crisis situations and service disruption with hands-on experience in delivering contingency plans and leading effective post-incident reviews.
  • A strong track record in health and safety leadership with experience promoting a safety-first culture conducting risk assessments and ensuring full compliance with relevant standards and legislation.
  • Experience in managing budgets and controlling costs ensuring efficient resource allocation and delivery within operational and financial targets.
  • The ability to make confident well-informed decisions in high-pressure environments balancing service delivery safety and commercial priorities.
  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to interpret operational data identify trends and opportunities and drive improvement through evidence-based decision making.
  • Excellent communication skills with experience producing clear concise reports and delivering presentations to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • A confident influencer with the ability to negotiate gain buy-in and build trust across a range of stakeholders including unions and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with a collaborative approach and the ability to engage effectively with colleagues at all levels across the organisation.
  • A genuine commitment to continuous professional development keeping up with industry best practice and applying fresh thinking to drive team and business performance.
