Description

City Theatre Company (LORT D) Pittsburghs leading professional theater dedicated to new plays seeks to hire a FACILITIES MANAGER. This is a full-time non-exempt (hourly) staff position responsible for the overall maintenance cleanliness and facility compliance for the entire City Theatre campus. This positions schedule is flexible to the needs of the business and will include weekends 35-40 hours per week.

Requirements

Principle responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:

Ensure that all physical facilities offices theaters exterior areas and public spaces are operational clean and functional for staff artists and guests.

Monitor inspection and certification schedules and ensure that all third-party service is conducted and code compliance is achieved.

Schedule regular and emergency maintenance with vendors including electrical plumbing elevator operation landscaping snow removal sprinkler systems etc.

Serve as first point of contact for campus alarm monitoring systems.

Perform minor facility repairs and updates.

Order and maintain facility supplies such as cleaning and paper products light bulbs sidewalk salt batteries etc.

Supplement third-party snow removal services if unexpected needs arise.

Maintain an active facility repair/upgrade list for campus.

Receive and promptly respond to staff requests regarding facility issues and be in-house point person/hotline for emergency maintenance issues.

Support for facility rentals and City Theatre events with setup janitorial needs and tear down


The successful candidate will demonstrate:

Strong interpersonal skills with an audience-first manner

Ability to work in collaboration with team members from a wide variety of backgrounds and cultures

The ability to communicate thoughtfully and professionally about solutions capacities and needs on both a departmental and personal level.

Efficiently plan and execute repairs renovations and preventive maintenance.

Understands that the facility supports the art and the audience experience.

The propensity to use independent judgement when working with staff vendors and patrons

Strong organizational skills and working with a high level of accuracy and professionalism

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite such as Excel and Word and comfort with web-based software and the ability to adapt learn and trouble-shoot within these platforms.

Ability to initiate self-start problem-solve and meet deadlines with strong attention to detail.

An enthusiasm for the arts and for delivering a safe pleasant and enjoyable experience.

Comfort with physical demands that include lifting up to 50lbs climbing kneeling bending and working at heights (on ladders and in lifts.)


Reporting & Compensation:

The position reports directly to the Director of Operations. It is a full-time non-exempt year-round position with an hourly rate of $20.00 and eligible for overtime compensation plus a competitive benefits package including 100% employer-covered health and life insurance; optional vision dental and FSA plans; paid vacation and holiday leave.


There is a 60-day probationary period that will commence upon first day of employment. At the end of this period both parties may mutually agree to re-visit the terms and responsibilities of the position.
