We are seeking a Security Assurance Analyst to join our Government Chief Digital Officer (GCDO) Security Assurance Team.
The cyber security team leads and influences security assurance and risk management practices across government working with ICT suppliers Data Centre providers and government agencies.
As a Security Assurance Analyst you will work collaboratively to support the delivery of a vast security certification and assurance programme including certification for onshore Public Cloud Data Centres. This role will get the opportunity to be involved in impactful ICT security assurance and risk programme that will directly make a difference to cyber security landscape of Aotearoa.
- Building positive relationships with key stakeholders internally and with external partners
- Providing security advice and guidance to develop processes and assess services (with the support of senior consultants)
- Co-ordinating security assurance deliverables with various teams and third parties
- Writing formal reports to document security performance and certification outcomes
- Ensuring the integrity accuracy and consistency of information and processes for the team
This role is open to someone new to the cyber security industry either with relevant tertiary education or related work experience. The current team is comprised of security specialists with an array of backgrounds and experience who are committed to fostering a culture that is supportive provides training and uplifts security analysts new to the industry.

- Experience writing reports and able to translate complex information into an easy to understand format
- A passion for ICT and digital environments and an interest in developing knowledge on security assurance and risk practices
- Committed to continuous development of skills and knowledge
- Possess a can do attitude - takes ownership of the task is accountable for the result
- Be self-motivated with the ability to work both independently as well as part of a team
- Have well-developed time management and organisational skills to manage resources processes and activities within agreed deliverables.
- Possess excellent problem-solving skills and an ability to think innovatively and analytically to work to deadlines
- Able to adopt flexibility and resilience to handle changing and competing demands
- Tertiary education in technology and/or cyber security or industry qualification preferred while experience in security assurance or similar technology is preferred but not essential.
