Whats the role

We are seeking a driven Food Service Manager that operates with a high sense of urgency and possesses a strong work ethic. Candidates for this position do NOT need to speak Hebrew. The school is eager to consider applications from traditionally underrepresented groups.

What youll do

Operations Management

  • Direct and supervise all aspects of daily food service operations
  • Ensure timely preparation and service of breakfast lunch and other meal programs in accordance with school schedules.
  • Monitor food quality portion control and meal presentation.
  • Maintain clean organized and sanitary kitchen and dining areas in compliance with health department regulations.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure full compliance with federal and state guidelines including USDA NSLP (National School Lunch Program) SBP (School Breakfast Program) and CACFP where applicable.
  • Maintain accurate production records temperature logs meal counts and inventory documentation as required by the School District and regulatory agencies.
  • Participate in health inspections and follow up on any corrective actions needed.

Inventory & Procurement

  • Order food and supplies through approved vendors and systems.
  • Receive inspect and store deliveries; manage food inventory to reduce waste and control costs.

Staff Supervision

  • Train schedule and supervise food service workers in the kitchen and cafeteria.
  • Monitor staff performance and ensure proper food safety and service procedures are followed.

Customer Service

  • Foster a welcoming respectful environment for students staff and visitors.
  • Communicate effectively with school administration parents and district staff.
  • Other operational tasks as needed

Who you are

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • ServSafe Certification required Candidates who are SafeServ Food Handler certified are preferred.
  • 2 years of Food service experience preferred; at least 1 year in a supervisory role is a plus
  • Ability to lift 25-30 lbs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • All candidates must submit to State Federal and Child Abuse Clearances.
  • Experience in a K12 school setting is a plus
