The role Year 1 Teacher
The Year 1 Teacher will lead systematic phonics guided reading early writing and practical maths as the Year 1 Teacher. The Year 1 Teacher will design continuous provision run small-group interventions and use formative assessment to inform next steps as the Year 1 Teacher. From planning tasks before January 2026 to classroom practice after January 2026 the Year 1 Teacher will play a central role in securing early progress.
Day-to-day for the Year 1 Teacher
Mornings: the Year 1 Teacher leads phonics and reading sessions that build fluency and vocabulary. Afternoons: the Year 1 Teacher delivers topic work and practical maths. The Year 1 Teacher will communicate with parents lead parental workshops and contribute to moderation around January 2026.
Candidate essentials Year 1 Teacher
We are seeking a Year 1 Teacher with QTS strong KS1 practice and a passion for early literacy. The Year 1 Teacher must be available for pre-term planning prior to January 2026 induction in January 2026 and to teach from January 2026 as the Full-Time Year 1 Teacher.
