SEDR Recruitment is partnering with a national civil engineering and earthworks contractor to appoint a SHEQ Health & Safety Advisor for a major infrastructure programme in South Wales.

The appointed advisor will play a key site-based role supporting operational delivery on a large-scale earthworks and remediation contract working closely with project teams to ensure safe efficient and compliant project execution.

Key Responsibilities
Provide proactive site-based HSE advice and coaching to operational teams and subcontractors
Carry out regular site inspections audits and safety tours to promote best practice
Deliver site inductions toolbox talks and refresher training to all levels of staff
Lead and support investigations into incidents near misses and unsafe acts
Review update and maintain project-specific RAMS and risk assessments
Monitor site performance and prepare accurate monthly SHEQ reports
Drive behavioural safety and continuous improvement through engagement and visibility
Liaise confidently with client SHE representatives and support regular review meetings
Requirements
Essential
Previous experience in a Health & Safety or SHEQ role within civil engineering earthworks or major construction
NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum)
Strong understanding of CDM Regulations and site-based compliance
Practical approachable and confident communicator at all levels
