Pay Rate: $12 - $16/hr; (Negotiable based on experience)
Shift: Day 7:00 AM 3:00 PM
Position Summary:
The Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) provides direct patient care and support to elderly residents under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The GNA assists residents with daily living activities monitors their health status and ensures a safe clean and comfortable environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with personal care activities including bathing grooming dressing toileting and feeding.
- Measure and record vital signs such as temperature pulse respiration and blood pressure.
- Maintain residents comfort dignity and privacy at all times.
- Report any changes in residents physical or mental condition to the supervising nurse promptly.
- Assist with meal preparation serving and feeding as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of resident rooms and care areas.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Maryland Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification.
- Previous experience in a long-term care or assisted living facility is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
