Location: Pikesville MD 21208
Employment Type: PRN
Pay Rate: $12 - $16/hr; (Negotiable based on experience)
Shifts Available: 8-hr Shifts
- 7:00 AM 3:00 PM
- 3:00 PM 11:00 PM
- 11:00 PM 7:00 AM
Position Summary:
The Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) provides high-quality compassionate care to elderly residents in accordance with established facility policies and state regulations. The GNA assists residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) promotes their independence and supports the nursing staff in maintaining a safe and comfortable environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with personal care needs such as bathing grooming dressing toileting and feeding.
- Measure and record vital signs (temperature pulse respiration blood pressure).
- Provide assistance with mobility transfers and ambulation.
- Observe and report any changes in residents physical or emotional condition to the nurse.
- Maintain residents safety and ensure a clean and comfortable environment.
- Assist with meal setup and feeding as needed.
- Support infection control and proper hygiene practices.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided.
- Participate in care team meetings and in-service training sessions.
- Uphold residents rights and confidentiality at all times.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Maryland Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification.
- Previous experience in a long-term care or assisted living facility is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed.
