The Solutions Architect works with the business stakeholders and the IT team to develop deep understanding of business operations processes and capabilities to determine the best methods to overcome business problems. Their job is to work with business stakeholders to determine current concerns for the company and identify opportunities where technology solutions process optimization and a connected strategy can help solve problems. They are also responsible for identifying future business needs and proactively working with the IT team to build the strategy and roadmaps to drive a connected ecosystem through future integrations and necessary changes. The Solutions Architect provides the necessary leadership analysis and design tasks related to support the development of technology solutions to ensure that solutions meet business needs and align with architectural governance and standards. This role requires the ability to work with evolving requirements competing business demands and within the context of an established aircraft manufacturing and service organization. This position will be part of the Information Technology team.
Job Duties And Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
The Solutions Architect will oversee activities that optimize the value cost and risk of applications:
- Understand business drivers and business capabilities (future and current state) and determine corresponding enterprise solution designs and change requirements to drive the organizations targeted business outcomes
- Lead evaluation design and analysis for the implementation of the solutions architecture across a group of specific business applications or technologies based on enterprise business strategy business capabilities value-streams business requirements and enterprise standards
- Understand emerging technology trends and disruptions and their practical application to enable new and evolving business and operating models
- Monitor the current-state solution portfolio to identify deficiencies through aging of the technologies used by the application or misalignment with business requirements and work with IT to provide a 3-5 yr strategy with a roadmap to create the connected ecosystem
- Able to effectively communicate the operational needs challenges and recommendations to achieve the connected ecosystem and how it will be approached across different audiences including technical managerial executives and vendors Generate technical requirements and communicate a matching solution architecture.
- Collaborate with other architects on the principles guidelines standards and solution patterns that ensure solution decisions are aligned with the enterprises future-state architecture vision
- Ensure that application processes (including those of external service providers) are conducted in line with corporate architecture standards company and technical policies and applicable standards and legislation

- ERP Implementation: Cirrus is beginning a major ERP rollout (Epicor Cloud SaaS) which will replace existing B2B/B2C ecommerce systems. This new ERP will integrate with multiple applications and directly impact plant floor operations.
- Integration Focus: The role centers on integrating various applications (including Salesforce and legacy Microsoft apps) with the new ERP ensuring seamless data flow and operational efficiency.
- Infrastructure & Application: The architect must understand how bare metal OS and security layers interact and how changes in one area affect others.
- Cloud Transition: Cirrus is moving from legacy systems to cloud-based solutions requiring architectural standards and hands-on involvement with code and infrastructure.
- Manufacturing Impact: All technology changes feed down to the plant floor so understanding manufacturing systems and processes is critical.
- Stakeholder Engagement: The architect will work closely with business and technical stakeholders including SI partners (Epicor) and occasionally be present on the plant floor.

- Integration: Proven experience integrating diverse applications and platforms following security protocols.
- Application Development: Development background specifically in the Microsoft stack (.NET C# Azure DevOps etc.)
- Technical Depth: Ability to get hands-on with code infrastructure and security.
- Architecture: Skilled in developing architecture blueprints strategies and roadmaps.
- Communication: Exceptional leadership and communication skills with executive presence.
