R. J. Corman Railroad Company seeks anAssistant Track SupervisorinLexington KYwho will be responsible for supervising day to day activities involving track maintenance and repair teams to ensure safe efficient rail quality for all divisions within Railroad Company.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees maintenance gang to ensure quality maintenance and safe work performance.
- Ensures the safety of employees performing maintenance related activities on Railroads.
- Ensures track meets all requirements for RJC and FRA.
- Ensures that employees adhere to all FRA related rules and regulations.
- Undertakes supervision of special projects as assigned.
- Completes and maintains all daily maintenance forms including:Daily Production Report Hot Work Permit Rail Added Report etc.
- Maintains close communication with all operating divisions to discuss and address daily issues and/or concerns as necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Education and Experience:Prefer related work experience of at least 3-5 years involving track inspection repair and understanding of FRA rules and regulations have good communication skills and good employee relations. Should be multi-task oriented and possess good analytical skills. Computer application skills required and previous supervisory type experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to perform physical strenuous work
- Able to frequently bend stoop kneel and crouch
- Able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50lbs
- Requires occasional use of 30lb claw bar to remove spikes requiring application of 50lbs of force
- Requires occasional use of 10lb sledge hammer to drive spikes requiring application of 75lbs of force
- Able to walk climb and maintain balance on equipment stairs ladders uneven terrain rails and ballast in a safe manner
- Able to navigate into confined spaces if necessary
Environmental Conditions:Performs duties in job-site environments in and around moving locomotives railcars vehicles and equipment. Frequent exposure to weather elements; and appropriate PPE required for job site visits.
