Job Description
Were currently seeking a proactive Spares Assistant to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in Kettering. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a busy technical environment supporting customers and keeping operations running smoothly.
The Role
Youll be responsible for managing spare parts enquiries processing orders through the ERP system and supporting both the goods-in function and the mechanical fitting team. The position requires strong attention to detail good communication skills and a practical approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Handling customer enquiries and preparing quotes for spare parts.
- Raising sales orders in the ERP system and processing stock through the Kardex system.
- Working with suppliers to obtain quotes raising purchase orders and managing incoming deliveries.
- Booking goods in and out packaging and dispatching customer orders.
- Allocating materials and updating order details accurately in the ERP system.
- Supporting the mechanical fitting team as needed.
- Carrying out daily forklift checks and assisting with manual handling tasks when required.
- Occasionally visiting local suppliers (pool car provided).
About You
- Previous experience in a technical engineering or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Confident using ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Team player with a positive hands-on attitude.
- Forklift licence desirable (training can be provided).
- Full UK driving licence preferred.
- Comfortable with occasional manual handling and lifting tasks.

Working Hours:
Monday Thursday: 8.00am 4.45pm
Friday: 8.00am 12.30pm
