Job Summary
- Set temperature and time cycle controls to obtain desired temperatures and soak cycles. Select proper programs for furnace cycles.
- Loads and unloads heat treat baskets as required.
- Operates charging buggy to move loaded baskets to and from washers furnaces and draw furnaces. Sets draw cycle for proper hardness and washes parts prior to and after hardening.
- Will run continuous type furnace equipment.
- Observes control panel and takes atmospheric samples with dew point instrument at regular intervals to ascertain that proper furnace conditions are maintained.
- Used hardness tester to check heat treated loads and determine if hardness requirements are being maintained.
- Will operate wheelabrator to remove scale rust stains or nicks from various bearing components.
- Operator will complete all necessary paperwork including quality tickets to accompany parts to Metallurgy Lab Furnace Operations Log 24 hour charts for each furnace and draw inspection/production report.
- Follow Ethics and Safety Programs
- Adhere to all Export Import and Supply Chain Security Policy requirement relevant to the position
- Follow State and Federal Environmental Compliance Programs
- Adhere to ISO 9000 Standards
