Job Description
We are hiring a Staff Engineer in our Minneapolis MN location. As a Staff Engineer roles may include on-site investigation work at contaminated soil groundwater sediment and soil vapor project sites field oversight and documentation sample collection data logging remedial design technical document preparation and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Perform Environmental Site Assessments and building material sampling
- Conduct screening of soil and groundwater for various environmental contaminants
- Oversee remedial projects to ensure compliance with plans and specifications and coordinate monitoring and testing services
- Document test results and reviews test data for accuracy and completeness
- Assist with data collection and report preparation
- Assist with remedial system design engineering calculations plans and specifications and construction cost estimates
- Work with project manager and client to ensure that project objectives are met
- Travels to local and regional project sites (up to 30% travel and 75% field work expected based on project needs)
- Assist senior staff with various environmental regulatory matters for clients
- Assist regional environmental staff as needed with group workload
Skills
- Data analysis proficient in Microsoft platform applications
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Demonstrate strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
Education/Experience
- Bachelors degree in civil chemical environmental or geological engineering or related engineering degree.
- 0 to 3 years of relevant experience.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate or ability to obtain within one year preferred
- OSHA HAZWOPER training preferred
- Experience with field data collection investigation and remediation oversight preferred
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
