A. Costing and Analysis
1. Develop implement and maintain standard costing systems for products projects and services.
2. Prepare detailed cost reports and variance analyses (actual vs. standard budget vs. actual).
3. Monitor and analyze manufacturing and operational costs including material labor and overheads.
4. Assist in establishing and reviewing cost standards for new and existing products.
5. Conduct cost-benefit and margin analysis to support pricing decisions and profitability improvement.
B. Budgeting and Forecasting
6. Collaborate with department heads to prepare cost budgets and forecasts.
7. Track performance against budgets and highlight deviations for management action.
8. Support the preparation of annual financial plans and rolling forecasts.
C. Inventory and Cost Control
9. Monitor inventory valuation movement and reconciliation in line with company policies.
10. Ensure accuracy of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and cost allocation across production activities.
11. Conduct periodic stock verification and ensure alignment between physical and system records.
12. Recommend measures to reduce waste and optimize material usage.
D. Financial Reporting
13. Prepare periodic management reports (cost statements production cost summary gross margin reports).
14. Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to cost accounting.
15. Ensure compliance with IFRS and internal financial policies in cost-related reporting.
E. Internal Control & Compliance
16. Implement cost control procedures to prevent financial leakages and inefficiencies.
17. Work with internal and external auditors on cost-related matters.
18. Support compliance with tax and regulatory requirements relating to production and costing.
Education: Bachelors Degree in Accounting Finance Economics or a related field.
Professional Certification: ACA ACCA or ICAN (in progress or completed).
Experience: Minimum of 46 years relevant experience in cost accounting preferably in a manufacturing FMCG or trading environment.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of cost accounting standards and methods.
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g. SAP Oracle Sage QuickBooks).
Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
Good understanding of IFRS and management reporting.
