Job Summary
RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in healthcare recruitment for domestic and overseas candidates across hospitals nursing homes home care and community care.
We are urgently seeking a CNM2 - Preoperative Assessment for our hospital in Westmeath Ireland.
Responsibilities
Provide professional and clinical leadership ensuring high standards of patient care through evidence-based nursing practice.
Coordinate assess plan deliver and review care for patients across Endoscopy Day Surgery and Outpatients/Pre-Assessment services.
Ensure safe comprehensive nursing care in line with NMBI standards CHKS HIQA HSE and hospital policies.
Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments organise required investigations and communicate findings to relevant clinicians.
Use clinical judgement to assess patient suitability for surgery and liaise with Anaesthetists Surgeons and General Practitioners to optimise pre-operative health.
Provide pre-operative education advice and discharge planning ensuring dignity and respect for all service users.
Promote collaboration across multidisciplinary teams contributing to the development of protocols audits and service improvements.
Maintain accurate nursing documentation participate in data collection for KPIs and contribute to clinical audits and research.
Requirements
Must be registered or eligible for registration in the General Division of the Register of Nurses maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
A minimum of five years post-registration nursing experience is required.
At least two of the five years experience must be within Pre-Assessment Theatre Endoscopy Anaesthetics or Day Surgery.
Must demonstrate strong clinical managerial and administrative capability to effectively fulfil the responsibilities of the role.
Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) at an appropriate level with relevant clinical experience in Endoscopy Theatre or Day Surgery is essential.
Should have completed or be willing to undertake a recognised Management Course.
Must possess working knowledge of risk management clinical audit and research processes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related software applications is required.
Experience in implementing change management processes and methodologies is desirable.
Completion of a recognised post-registration qualification in Peri-Operative Care is an advantage
