We are currently hiring Staff Nurse -In patient Surgical/Medical Wards for a reputed hospital in Dublin Ireland.
Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to patients admitted to surgical and medical wards including monitoring vital signs and assessing patient conditions.
Assist with pre-operative and post-operative care for surgical patients including preparation monitoring and recovery.
Administer medications intravenous therapies and other prescribed treatments safely and accurately.
Perform wound care dressing changes and basic clinical procedures as per protocol.
Monitor and report changes in patient condition to physicians and multidisciplinary teams.
Support patients with mobility hygiene nutrition and rehabilitation needs.
Educate patients and families on treatment plans medication and post-discharge care.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and interventions.
Ensure compliance with infection control standards health and safety policies.
Respond to emergencies provide first aid and assist in resuscitation if required.
Requirements
Registered General Nurse (RGN) with current registration with e.g. NMBI / NMC or relevant board
Minimum 12 years of experience in medical/surgical wards preferred
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Life Support (ALS) is a plus
must have 1 year or more experience in an Acute Irish Hospital

Patient assessment and monitoring observing vital signs recognizing changes in condition and reporting promptly Medication administration safely giving oral IV and injectable medications Pre- and post-operative care assisting surgical patients before and after procedures Wound care and dressing management handling post-surgical wounds drains and catheters Basic clinical procedures including cannulation catheterization and vital signs monitoring
Required Education:
Registered General Nurse (RGN) qualification from a recognized nursing registration with the relevant nursing regulatory body (e.g. NMBI in Ireland NMC in the UK or equivalent in other countries).Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Life Support (ALS) or other emergency care certifications are desirable.
