Job Description
The Registered Nurse specializing in peri-operative nursing practice performs nursing activities in the peri-operative intraoperative and postoperative phase of the patients surgical experience. Peri-operative nursing provides continuity of care designed to meet individual patient needs through the nursing process.
While the peri-operative nurse works in collaboration with other health professionals to determine and meet patient needs the nurse has primary responsibility and accountability for the nursing care of patients having surgical intervention. Participates on teams created to improve outcome quality through process improvement and team technologies.
Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required. Bachelors degree in Nursing preferred. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement
