Summary

The Inventory Specialist is responsible for overseeing and managing inventory operations. Responsibilities including maintaining optimal inventory levels ensuring the accuracy of inventory records and coordinating with various departments to meet production and sales demands.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish and manage inventory control procedures and best practices to manage the receipt storage and distribution of inventory to meet day-to-day production and financial targets.
  • Responsible for development and improvement of inventory systems software policies and procedures to maintain consistent and accurate inventory and supply chains that meet quality standards and timelines for production and financial targets.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions and adjustments. Monitor inventory levels through routine checks to ensure accuracy is maintained. Support accounting and audit functions through cycle-counting analysis data entry/maintenance and reporting. Analyze inventory data to identify trends discrepancies and areas for improvement.
  • Assist in resolving inventory concerns and implementing strategies to mitigate risk. Prepare and present inventory reports to management.
  • Oversee general facilities as they pertain to inventory management managing freezer lab and storage equipment including but not limited to monitoring schedule of preventative maintenance responding to alarms and notifications. Performs general lab support and inventory management tasks according to site procedures and policies and accurate documentation.
  • Support the site with general procurement needs including site consumables and collection kit supplies

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree (B.S./B.A.) from four-year college or university; or high school graduate with four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with inventory management or similar role.
  • Proficiency in a variety of computer software programs including MS Office inventory management software and ERP systems.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and practices.
  • Strong customer service communication time management and project management skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving analytical and critical thinking skills with a proactive approach and the ability to adapt to new challenges.
