What youll do
We are looking for a (Mid to Senior) AI Software Developer who can drive (gen)AI development and lead our engineering scrum teams as technical code and architecture owner. The candidate will have profound skills in Data Science Data Engineering and Software Engineering for our IT agile team with an entrepreneurial spirit to join our diverse team and work on innovation projects.
The Role
In this role you will drive internal AI adoption across different Lines of Business (LOBs) within the company. You will collaborate with other engineers to develop AI services taking projects from proof of concept to full production deployment. This position involves close partnership with AI Platform engineers and stakeholders from various departments. You will work with cross-functional teams to contribute to our evolving AI-first tech stack address diverse and rapidly changing challenges and thrive in a fast-paced environment that offers continuous learning. Additionally you will help define and promote best practices for AI engineering excellence throughout the organization.
Responsibilities
Lead anddevelop AI services from PoC to Production
Setup and develop new Big Data pipelines to productize data ETL workloads for different AI services
Develop GenAI/AgenticAI solution designs
Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions
Productionize AI PoCs with good software engineering by incorporating CI/CD pipelines deployment and MLOps/LLMOps
Take ownership over AI services in development and production
Guide and mentor junior colleagues and evolve their AI engineering skillse
What you bring
Degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field
Strong Python skills
Experience with backend frameworks (Flask Django FastAPI etc.)
Solid grasp of software engineering principles and agile teamwork
Familiarity with tools like Docker Kubernetes GitHub VSCode Linux
Exposure to CI/CD and ML Ops (Jenkins GitHub Actions MLFlow)
Cloud experience (Azure ML Databricks AWS/GCP equivalents)
Fluent English and a collaborative mindset
Understanding of Agile/SAFe methodologies
Nice to have but not a must
Knowledge of Distributed Computing Systems for Big Data Engineering such as Databricks (PySpark/Scala)
Hands-on experience with genAI / agenticAI frameworks such as crewAI langgraph etc.
Expertise in code-based LLM consumption from platforms like OpenAI or Huggingface
Curiosity to explore different AI applications and emerging technologies
Experience with SAP AI offerings such as AI Core AI Business Services Joule
These skills are a plus. If you dont have experience in all these areas well provide the resources and training you need to become a leader in cutting-edge AI technologies.

SAP Intelligent Enterprise Solutions (IES) department has the purpose to Deliver and Run the Intelligent Enterprise. IES is SAPs technology backbone and most compelling reference customer and as such we influence product development and strategy with our customer experience at heart.
Within IES our Artificial Intelligence CoE team has the purpose to help SAP to transform into a data-driven intelligent enterprise by empowering SAP employees to simplify processes leveraging AI technologies. We implement both standard SAP AI and custom built solutions across all LoBs. We are customer zero of SAP standard AI solutions and provide continuous feedback to standard development for product improvement. We provide an AI Platform and Infrastructure to entire SAP AI practitioners for building their own ML solutions in the entire ML lifecycle following MLOps methodology. Furthermore we build and operate a central chatbot platform based on SAP Conversational AI with the aim to provide capabilities from all lines of business through a single digital assistant. We also build those capabilities (individual chatbots) as well as support other teams in building further ones.
