Position Overview:
NHTI is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach Statics and Strength of Materials. This course provides students with essential knowledge in the engineering field of studies concerning statics and strength of materials. The course is algebra based and focuses on practical applications and real-world relevance.

  • Schedule: Monday 2 pm 3:50 pm (lab) Wednesday 2 pm 4:50 pm (lecture)

Course Description:
Analysis of external force systems acting on bodies in equilibrium with subsequent treatment of the stresses and strains induced. Lab projects will involve the use of nondestructive and destructive testing equipment to determine the various mechanical properties of materials and their behavior under load.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach the assigned course using provided curriculum and instructional materials aligned with program standards. This is a face-to-face course but LMS software (Canvas) is used to manage the course.
  • Facilitate class discussions assignments and assessments to foster student engagement and learning.
  • Provide regular feedback and maintain accurate records of student progress.
  • Maintain professional currency in the field and comply with college policies and standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • Experience: Prior teaching experience and familiarity with Canvas (or similar LMS) preferred.
  • Residency: Must reside in NH VT ME MA RI or CT.
