    SALARY: Salary based on experience and education level per CBOE salary schedule plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately35% of direct compensation.Harrison County Professional Salary Schedule

    EMPLOYMENT: 200 days

    QUALIFICATIONS: The successful applicant for this position must possess and/or show evidence of the following:

    *Valid West Virginia Certificate in the area for whichapplying.

    *Strong academic background.

    *Demonstrates the ability to create a stimulating andmotivating environment for children.

    *Knowledge of how to use a variety of teaching strategies to effectively teach students with varyinglevels of ability in the subject matter to be
    taught.

    *Ability to communicate effectively through clearconcise writing free of spelling and grammaticalerrors and through articulate verbal skills.

    *Proven ability to effectively deal with students ofvarious abilities and proficiency in planning lessonsto meet their needs.

    *Ability to understand and interpret test data in orderto improve learning confidence and morale ofstudents.

    *Demonstrate knowledge of Effective SchoolResearch as it applies to the position for which applying.

    *Ability to maintain a cooperative working relationship with administration staff students andpublic.

    *Knowledge of the concepts contained in thecurriculum of the particular subject matter to betaught.

    *Exhibits an understanding of principles needed toobtain positive classroom student behavior.

    *Knowledge and/or experience working withcomputers.

    *Ability to create a stimulating and motivatingenvironment for students.

    1. Bases instruction on adopted curricula for the school.
    2. Demonstrates accurate and current knowledge in subject field.
    3. Develops appropriate lessons to teach instructional objectives.
    4. Employs a variety of instructional strategies to augment achievement.
    5. Utilizes content scope and sequence in planning.
