Job Summary:
The Process & Facilities Engineer is a motivated detail-oriented mid-level Engineer working within the multidisciplinary this role you are responsible for applying principles of engineering to design develop and evaluate processes products and systems to ensure efficiency and safety. A strong technical background and ability to work independently are required.
Experience & Education:
- Bachelors degree in engineering is required.
- Bachelors degree in chemical or process engineering is preferred.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g. PRO/II UniSim HYSYS/AspenPlus).
- Process engineering experience in upstream refining or petrochemical operations with a strong understanding of fundamental engineering and operational practices.
- Knowledge of oil and gas facilities design operations procedures and practices.
- Takes initiative and is required to have strong teamwork and communication (oral and written) skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills as well as be proficient in the use of engineering software packages.
- Experience with development of Operating Manuals and Standard Operating Procedures
- Experience with process safety design industry standards and best practices.
- Knowledge of relevant codes/industry standards and best practices for process/design engineering
- The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and other stakeholders is also essential.
- Highly organized and able to complete tasks in a timely manner.
Essential Duties& Responsibilities:
- Review project designs from a process engineering perspective.
- Troubleshooting and developing solutions to problems encountered with process systems.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure seamless integration of new projects.
- Coordinate with various stakeholders to align operational requirements with project deliverables.
- Ensure all operations comply with industry safety standards regulations and company policies.
- Utilize HYSYS modeling to support process systems performance evaluation for production optimization
- Develop and implement operational readiness plans for new projects and modifications.
- Support Process Hazard Assessments including HAZOPs.
- Conduct readiness assessments to identify potential risks and gaps in processes.
- Conduct safety audits and readiness reviews to mitigate potential risks.
- Develop and deliver training programs to ensure operational staff are prepared for new systems and processes.
- Prepare detailed reports on readiness activities findings and recommendations.
- Provide risk-based assurance on the quality of process safety barriers or controls.
- Develop technical and scope documents to support process engineering oversight of assigned projects.
- Comply with all Company and Client HSE policies and procedures.
- Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
