| The Nutrition Technician NICU working under close supervision assists with the organization preparation and maintenance of human milk and formula to neonatal patients and pediatric patients less than 28 days of life. This role also works in collaboration with the Neonatal Dietitian and helps with the calculation preparation delivery and monitoring of specialized neonatal and pediatric formulas human milk and medical nutrition in order to care for the patient. |
Responsibilities

Assists with calculating preparing and distributing volumes of infant and pediatric formula human milk and supplements/additives according to standard work and recipes and adhering to quality control standards. Helps inventory formula room stock mothers milk/donor milk supply and manages formula recalls at the direction of the Neonatal Dietitian and Supply Management. Supports with unpacking labeling and storing formula donor milk and supplements in the designated areas implementing the first in first out (FIFO) method. Removes unused previously prepared infant formula/human milk from patient area refrigerators 24 hours after preparation time according to established protocol. Helps complete daily donor milk logs by indicating recipients of donor milk batch numbers. Uses the clinical information systems to update patient formula/human milk orders print labels print production lists and communicate effectively with allied health care personnel regarding formula/human milk orders. Performs other duties as assigned. |
Qualifications
| EDUCATION: |
| Required: High School Diploma or equivalent |
| EXPERIENCE: |
| Required: 1 year of experience in a health care related field |
