Job Summary

TITLE: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)


DEPARTMENT: Pupil Services


JOB DESCRIPTION: The Board Certified Behavior Analyst works in collaboration with a certified Special Education Teacher to implement and monitor Positive Behavior Support Programing for students with a wide range of behavioral concerns and diagnosis. Also responsible to provide RBT supervision to staff and provide de-escalation/crisis management training to identified staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Board Certified Behavior Analyst Required. Supervisory Certification for RBT oversight preferred.
2. Knowledge of Special Education best practices laws and regulations.
3. Have good physical health and positive attitude.
4. Ability to work cooperatively with principals coordinators other staff members and parents.
5. Provide evidence of a desire to positively influence the lives of students.
6. Will possess or acquire Safety Care Trainer Certification.

REPORTS TO AND IS EVALUATED BY: Coordinator of Special Services

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develop programs using principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to develop the skills needed for target students to be more independent individuals.
2. Using Applied Behavior Analysis assesses current pre-learner and language skills to determine areas of strength and deficits in the childs repertoire.
3. Using Applied Behavior Analysis conduct functional behavior assessments by interviewing all relevant individuals observing the students in the natural environment and writing a report that reflect the findings of the assessment.
4. Collaborate with the Special Education teacher to develop behavior plans based on the functional behavior assessment.
5. Train all staff to implement the Applied Behavior Analysis plan. Relevant staff may include Instructional Assistants the Special Education Teacher General Education Teachers etc.
6. Monitor data collection and behavior plan to determine if changes need to be made to the behavior plan.
7. Assist the special Education teacher to develop goals for Individual Education Plans (IEP) as needed and attend IEP meetings.
8. Provide supervision to district RBTs.
9. Train staff to teach using Applied Behavior Analysis techniques such as errorless teaching prompting differential reinforcement etc. Training can take place in the natural environment at monthly staff meetings or during planned trainings (i.e. Inservice days)
10. Instruct staff members in the use of de-escalation strategies and passive crisis management techniques and assist teacher in applying these techniques when necessary.


COMPENSATION: Commensurate with experience.
