| Job Description: | The Lastinger Center for Learning is looking for a part-time student assistant to support our New Worlds Reading team. This individual will assist as needed on various projects throughout the Center. This is a time-limited as needed position. The University of Florida Lastinger Center for Learnings mission is to improve the quality of teaching learning and childcare. We research develop and scale educational innovations for adults and children that put all learners on trajectories for lifelong success. Specifically the Center targets kindergarten readiness 3rd grade reading proficiency and algebra proficiency as critical milestones in childrens educational trajectory that are predictive of success in school and life. The Center works at the nexus of research practice and policy to develop sustainable systems that leverage educational technologies and improve the implementation of research-based practices. Housed in one of the nations elite public research universities the Center operates as a dynamic entrepreneurial workplace focused on executing UFs service mission to strengthen the human condition and improve the quality of life. - Mail State Initiatives (NWR and FTA) flyers. upon request.
- Manage SOLO flyer shipment returns by verifying addresses to reship them to the correct address when applicable. Update tracking log to make not of schools that have moved or closed.
- Organize the New Worlds Reading Reference and Lending Libraries.
- Ship promotional items books and printed promotional materials upon request.
- Assist with special projects such as labeling books packing event supplies mailings etc.
- Take periodic inventory of supplies books and promotional items.
- Provide support to Business Operations including:
- Keeping the Ingenuity office space clean stocked and organized.
- Receiving shipments for various associates and teams.
- Greeting visitors.
- Preparing FedEx shipments.
- Assist with in-person meetings and events (set up break down catering etc.).

| Required Qualifications: | This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) or Federal Work-Study (FWS) and must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average. Registered students are employed on a part-time basis up to 20 hours per week. |
