In this role much of your day is spent providing moderate-to-complex clerical support to the judge. You will fully maintain the judges schedule organize the assembled materials notify parties and schedule and coordinate court appearances and meetings. You will also track case status assigned to the judge and perform data gathering or limited legal research about cases. You are expected to assist attorneys and the public regarding all courtroom operations.
Additionally you will prepare and processes a variety of court documents requiring a broad knowledge of court operations and legal terminology and format. This includes but is not limited to judicial correspondence memoranda reports and legal documents such as court orders opinions and instructions. You are expected to review for accuracy and completeness and scan such documents in the courts internal software system. You will also function as the backup court clerk during court proceedings including helping jurors and operating recording equipment. Part of your time will be spent training and mentoring new staff.
You will use established policies and procedures to perform your work while also ensuring statutory requirements are importantly you will be part of our justice system that ensures peoples cases are heard impartially and in a timely manner.
Lastly you will participate in statewide or local committee meetings including making recommendations regarding future improvements in processes and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
AND
Four (4) years of responsible administrative experience in a moderately complex office or business setting demonstrating the knowledge skills and abilities needed for the position.
OR
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to four (4) years of experience that typically supports the knowledge skills and abilities for the position.
