DescriptionIn accordance with the Vision Purpose and Values and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority(Island Health) patient & staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
The Radiological Technologist works in a computerized environment producing diagnostic radiographs as assigned and carrying out diagnostic procedures either independently or in collaboration with a radiologist or other physician; applies radiation safety principles and practices to protect patients staff and the general public; and completes required documentation and administrative tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Training And Experience
Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification as a Medical Radiation Technologist. Graduation from an approved radiology technology program. Eligible for membership in the CAMRT.
Skills And Abilities
- Ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Physical ability to meet the requirements of the job.
- Ability to operate related equipment such as a computer.
