Job Summary
AECOM Technical Services Inc. is seeking a Bridge Design Project Engineer III in Houston TX.
Job responsibilities:
- Prepare structural designs plans specifications and cost estimates for transportation structures including bridges retaining walls and drainage structures
- Provide load rating analysis rehabilitation concepts and structure type evaluation analyses
- Use current engineering design software
- Coordinate with other design teams and disciplines
- Perform specific and limited portions of broader assignments under the guidance of an experienced engineer
- Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures
- Work on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests
- Propose approaches to solve new problems encountered
- Identify discrepancies in results
- Provide guidance to entry-level engineers
- Perform work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision
- May telecommute
Qualifications :
- Candidates must have a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Structural Engineering or related field and 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.
- Alternatively employer will accept a Masters degree in Civil Engineering Structural Engineering or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.
Position requires experience in the following:
- Professional Engineer license;
- Microstation;
- LEAP Bridge Concrete BridgeLink (PGSuper) and Bridge Geometry System;
- MathCAD;
- Midas;
- LPile;
- spColumn;
- OpenRoad Designer;
- Projectwise and Bluebeam;
- Developing technical reports and documenting client communications;
- Working with TxDOT Bridge Design Manual Bridge Design Guide and Bridge Detailing Guide;
- Working with Roadway Design Manual and Geotechnical Design Manual for TxDOT PS&E projects;
- Working with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications; and
- Design-build project (Alternative Delivery).
