As a tutor you will support your peers in achieving their learning goals while learning and growing as a professional. As a tutor you will:
- Enhance your communication skills
- Increase your understanding of and gain new perspectives on the subject you tutor
- Better understand the learning process through tutor training and your work with peers with other learning styles and educational experiences
- Gain mentorship skills
- Enjoy flexible hours (4-12 per week) in a convenient on-campus work location
- Earn a starting wage of $12.00 per hour
Duties and Expectations:
- Provide tutoring and support in one of our service areas
- Assist learners in the development of effective study skills and test-taking strategies
- Learn and continually apply TLC and tutoring program procedures
- Regularly check staffemail and communicate with other staff members
- Attend required orientations meetings and training sessions
Key Job Responsibilities:
Department: Tutoring Learning Center
Compensation: $12.00
Required Qualifications:
- Completed at least one semester at UWSP withat leasttwo semesters remaining
- Demonstrate a strong grasp of course material as evidenced by a 3.0 GPA or above and/or a faculty recommendationletter.
- Available to tutor for at least two semesters
- Willing to work with peers in a collaborative inclusive learning environment
- Enjoy helping others learn
