How you make an impact
The Accelerator Operations Manager is responsible for the leadership and management of Niowaves accelerator operations teams. This role includes oversight of daily operations technical direction and strategic planning to ensure safe compliant and efficient production. You will advocate for safety excellence drive process improvements and develop team members through coaching and career development.
What you need to succeed
  • Embraces and models the Niowave Values of Teamwork Courage Integrity and Upright Zeal
  • B.S. degree in a STEM field
  • 8 years of progressive positions in accelerator operations
  • 5 years of supervisory experience including day-to-day activities of a team of 15 or more with demonstrated ability to build cohesive teams establish career development tracks and succession planning
  • Understands how to integrate into a new team/organizationappreciates the history of current state knows how and when to make suggestions and uses just the right pace to reach the improved future state
  • Understands your own communication and learning styles can assess others styles and is able to find the right path to connect the two
  • Experience leading process improvement initiatives with evidence of successful outcomes
  • Experience in managing a production team ensuring appropriate training & development of staff shift optimization for positive operational and personnel outcomes and meeting organizational objectives
  • Strategic thinking with creative and excellent problem solving and decision-making skills with ability to critically interpret and use data to manage risk
  • Proven ability to lead and develop staff and teams
  • Displays excellent interpersonal written and oral communication skills
  • Possesses strong organizational and project management skills for self and teams
Great to have
  • Advanced degree in a STEM field
  • 12 years of progressive positions in accelerator operations
  • 8 years of supervisory experience including day-to-day activities of a team of 20 with demonstrated ability to build cohesive teams establish career development tracks and succession planning
  • 5 years of experience leading teams in an accelerator and/or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
  • Nuclear material management experience
Other things to know
  • Full-time position
  • The companys standard operating hours are Monday thru Friday 6:00 a.m. 6:00 p.m. with production-related activities requiring 24/7/365 shifts
  • This position will have regular working hours Monday Friday with an expectation of adjusting to meet shift work requirements and to engage with staff working outside of standard hours as needed
  • Niowave has multiple locations within the Lansing area and travel between locations is expected in the role
