Job Summary

Overview

Be part of a dynamic and creative team whose goals are to improve the quality of disability and aging services for older Vermonters and adults with disabilities through the Department of Disabilities Aging and Independent Living (DAIL) Adult Services Division. This position will function as a member of the Adult Services Quality Management Unit Survey Team. The Quality Management Unit provides oversight of over 45 selected agencies or programs providing services to older adults and adults with disabilities.

This position includes regular work in the field and will include extensive interaction with individuals with disabilities older adults and their families state agencies community service providers workforce administration contractors and other organizations. This position requires the successful candidate to have a valid drivers license and the ability to drive to locations throughout the state of Vermont and some surrounding areas. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Aging and Disabilities Quality Assurance Program Director.

Environmental Factors

Work is performed both in a standard office setting and in the field for which private means of transportation should be available. Incumbents are subject to a variety of stressful situations while evaluating and improving support services for people with disabilities and aging adults. Work also involves regular interaction with provider and departmental leadership. Some work outside of normal office hours may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

Masters degree in human services nursing social work or related field AND three (3) years or more of experience in service and program planning implementation coordination and evaluation INCLUDING two (2) years or more dealing with services to the elderly and/or disabled and experience with Medicaid programs.

OR

Bachelors degree in human services nursing social work or related field AND five (5) years or more of experience in service and program planning implementation coordination and evaluation INCLUDING two (2) years or more dealing with services to the elderly and/or disabled and experience with Medicaid programs.

OR

Two years of full-time college coursework OR an associates degree AND seven (7) years or more of experience in service and program planning implementation coordination and evaluation INCLUDING two (2) years or more dealing with services to the elderly and/or disabled and experience with Medicaid programs.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with auditing compliance and interpretation of state and federal regulations preferred.

Special Requirements

Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the accordance with AHS Policy 4.02 Hiring Standards Vermont and/or national criminal record checks as well as DMV and adult and child abuse registry checks as appropriate to the position under recruitment will be conducted on candidates with the exception of those who are current classified state employees seeking transfer promotion or demotion into an AHS classified position or are persons exercising re-employment (RIF) rights.
