Job Summary

Overview

Services for children and youth who have neurodevelopmental disabilities (i.e. autism intellectual disability genetic and chromosomal syndromes etc.) are central to Kennedy Kriegers mission.

We are seeking applicants who have interest and experience with these populations to learn and apply cutting edge clinical interventions for posttraumatic stress. We are offering a $10000 sign-on bonus for full-time LCSW-C who join our team!

Excellent benefits supervision and training for clinicians at this outpatient mental health clinic specializing in trauma treatment. Candidates with clinical experience with marginalized groups and champions of social justice are encouraged to apply. The Center for Child and Family Traumatic Stress at Kennedy Krieger Institute has been operating for over 40 years and has received national recognition.

Responsibilities

  1. Provide clinical social work services to children adolescents young adults and families through individual group or family modalities.
  2. Conduct evaluations including diagnostic assessments to determine appropriate treatment modality.
  3. Collaborate with the referring agency to assist them in utilizing the evaluation/treatment services in the development of the service plan for the child and the family.
  4. Collaborate with the school system to assure that the children are receiving appropriate educational services if indicated.
  5. Participate in peer consultation groups and/or individual supervision for the purpose of review of clinical work.
  6. Attend in-service clinical training programs treatment planning meeting and necessary administrative meetings.
  7. Maintain client activity at the projected level set by the administrative staff.
  8. Maintain the medical record for each client seen which includes a treatment plan and diagnostic interview at the initiation of therapy weekly progress notes periodic reviews and termination summary.
  9. May participate in the field instruction program and supervise social work trainees when interest and capacity are demonstrated. May participate in specialized clinics focused on particular conditions or treatments

Qualifications

  • Must be licensed by the Maryland State Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Board of Social Work Examiners as a Licensed Certified Social Worker- Clinical (LCSW-C).
  • Must possess and maintain cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification.

EDUCATION:

  • Masters degree from an accredited School of Social Work required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum two years of licensed clinical experience related to treating children and families with traumatic exposures and associated emotional and behavioral disturbances required.
