Essential Job Functions
- Assists students with their treatment for minor illnesses and injuries and refers cases for more advanced treatments as needed
- Dispenses medication and provides medical treatment under the guidelines of the medical providers standing orders as needed
- Processes and reviews medical records in accordance with department of health and university regulations
- Records patients complaints performs assessments treatments and refers for treatment outside the university as needed
- Documents student visits and contacts to track the frequency of visits and illnesses so trend analysis can be completed
- Assists with educational programs that teach students about health related matters and to promote healthy practices on campus
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of an associates degree or equivalent formal training program
- Experience working in nursing or other related experience
- Registered nurses license
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates degree or equivalent formal training program in nursing or related field of study
- Clinical experience direct patient care point of care testing knowledge of states immunization requirements documentation using electronic health records (EHR) lab ordering
- Experience administering injections and oral medications
