Disciplines: Mechanical Piping Civil/Earthworks Structural/Architectural (CSA) Electrical Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Process/Metallurgy (incl. SX/EW) Project/Study Management Project Engineering CAD Coordination Mechanical/Structural/E&I/Civil Design plus related project controls/procurement/document control.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Deliver engineering and design work from studies (scoping/PFS/FS) through FEED and detailed design; support construction and commissioning as needed.
    • Produce and review discipline deliverables (e.g. PFDs/H&M/P&IDs equipment specs; calculations; layouts; 3D models; drawings; I&C narratives/C&E/loops; single-lines and power distribution; grading/earthworks models; civil and structural packages).
    • Interface with multi-discipline teams (process mechanical piping CSA electrical I&C procurement controls) to meet scope schedule cost and quality targets.
    • Engage vendors (RFQs/specs/tech evals) participate in HAZOPs/model reviews and contribute to constructability and safety-in-design.
    • For lead/manager tracks: plan/assign work mentor teams manage budgets/hours coordinate with clients and ensure compliance with codes/standards.

    Duty stations & travel

    • Engineers (U.S.-based): Duty station(s) per Work Order (primarily Colorado and Nevada) with periodic travel to sites/offices as needed.
    • Designers & certain support roles: Typically Mexico-based (remote or nearshore) with occasional travel if requested.
    • Always confirm primary worksite address(es) and any rotation/multi-site expectations during the hiring process.

    Work authorization & visas

    Engineers (U.S.-based): Mexican citizens may be eligible for TN status under USMCA for qualifying engineer roles. Ausenco Legal leads all TN filings. IAG will collect TN-readiness documents (degree/transcripts translations résumé passport etc.). Some roles may require/strongly prefer a U.S. PE licenseindicate your status.

    Designers/Support roles (Mexico-based): Hired in Mexico; no TN required.

    Minimum qualifications (varies by role/level)

    • Education: Bachelors in a relevant engineering discipline (Mechanical Civil Structural Electrical Electronics Chemical/Process) for engineering roles; technical diploma/certificate for design roles.
    • Experience: Typically 25 years for intermediate 610 for senior 1015 for lead/principal/manager. Mining/mineral processing or heavy industrial EPC/EPCM experience is highly valued.
    • Tools (role-dependent): AutoCAD Civil 3D Plant 3D SmartPlant/SPI/S3D Navisworks/BIM 360; MetSim/SysCAD (process); Primavera P6 and EcoSys/PRISM (controls); MS Project/Power BI; general office suite.
    • Standards: Familiarity with applicable codes (e.g. ASME AISC/ASCE API/ISO IEEE/NEMA NEC/IEC).
    • Communication: Professional English (B2). Spanish a plus.

    Preferred qualifications

    • Mining & minerals project experience (e.g. copper/gold concentrators; SX/EW; POX; materials handling; tailings/earthworks).
    • Licensure: EIT/FE; PE in relevant U.S. state(s) (varies by role; some lead roles may require it).
    • Leadership: Multi-office coordination mentoring client-facing delivery proposal support.
