As a CoStar Software Engineer on the Platform Development team you will play a key role in expanding the data platform that supports all of CoStar Groups largest brands including CoStar Suite LoopNet and . You will deeply understand what drives the business for which you are building software. We firmly believe that what separates a good developer from a great one is a deep understanding of the business that they are supporting.

This position is located in Arlington VA and is in office Monday through Thursday and work from home on Friday.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to our distributed streaming ETL platform that provides data to core business products
• Produce code that is robust efficient and maintainable; our primary tools are C# TypeScript and React
• Use the latest technologies to derive insights from our vast data ecosystem using LLMs MCP and agentic workflow patterns.
• Drive and lead software design development standards code reviews.
• Continually evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities trends and best practices that can be leveraged to strength CoStars technology platform and develop practices.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree required from an accredited not for profit university or college.
• A track record of commitment to prior employers
• 3 years development (C#) development experience including cross platform communication technologies such as REST APIs or RPC
• 5 years of experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React Vue or Solid
• Working knowledge and experience with cloud-based platforms (AWS or Azure)
• Experience in architecting designing and building large scale distributed services-oriented systems and web applications in an agile environment
• Data modeling experience
• Experience using design tools such as Figma or Sketch to create high-fidelity mocks

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• Strong communication skills (to both business and technical partners)
• SQL and database development knowledge
• Familiarity with AWS PaaS services such as Lambda DynamoDB and SQS
• Data modeling experience from conceptual logical and physical designs
• A basic understanding of how to build tools that utilize LLMs
