Job Summary

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse assigned performs a variety of direct patient care activitiesin caring for the personal needs and comforts of the patient.

Department: Geri Psych

Location: BMC South

Schedule: 24 Hours Evenings

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

Provides care that addresses the specific needs of age groups from infant to elderly as well as accommodating a variety of needs specific to impairments such as hearing sight substance abuse language barriers and potential victims of abuse.
Incorporates knowledge and understanding of our committment to patient rights exceptional care and the hospitals values and mission into his/her perfomance of job duties.
Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

A High school diploma or equivalent is required.

CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

Must possess a valid Massachusetts Certified Nursing Assistant license or show proof of enrollment in accredited nursing school and completion of the courses Fundamentals of Nursing I & II.

EXPERIENCE:

Previous experience as a CNA preferred

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Knowledge of medical terminology is required.
Ability to communicate effectively in English with staff and patients is required.
Must be able to prioritize multiple requests to ensure timeliness and provide exceptional patient care.
Must possess the skills to be compassionate empathetic and responsive to the needs of a variety of patients.
Software/Hardware: Computer experience is preferred.
