- The Contract Manager will provide management of all contract/project specific operations in their area delivering on safety on contract requirements growing the Water business optimizing resource use and achieving target results
- The Contract Manager will be responsible for the ongoing delivery of the Tauranga City Council (TCC) City Waters Contract & Western BOP Contract with support from the Water leadership team.
- The Contract Manager will be the key Downer point of contact with the TCC & Western BOP Teams and will further develop relationships with other l Councils and clients alongside other Downer business streams.
What youll do
- Manage contractual issues relating to general and special conditions and specifications ensuring obligations are met and variations are identified and managed
- Report regularly to project budgets and report regularly to project stakeholders
- High level of input into commercial aspects of contracts - including estimating cost control and delivering required financial results
- Manage the allocation of people plant technology and resources to optimize working shifts in order to minimise downtime. Liaise effectively with appropriate managers and resource coordinators
- Ensure contract risks and compliance issues are identified and minimised with appropriate controls in place
- Manage and participate in the production of tender submissions either as additional work through the contract or external contracts that align with the water strategy
- Develop relationships with potential clients in the Tauranga Bay of Plenty and Central North Island area to aid identification of relevant opportunities across the market. Both internal and external

What were looking for
- Ideally a relevant tertiary level water/engineering related qualification
- Minimum 10 years experience in an engineering/maintenance position of responsibility
- Commercial acumen including the ability to prepare progress and claim reports and to produce and interpret monthly financial reports to P&L level
- Understanding of and experience with Job Management and Asset Management Systems
- Ability to price minor/capital work utilities projects
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with experience with dealing with
