Job Summary
Job Title: Mechanical Estimation Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Mechanical Estimation Engineer to support pre-contract activities related to mechanical works including piping systems equipment installation and associated infrastructure for large-scale construction projects. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience preferably in Gulf countries such as Saudi Arabia and must possess strong expertise in project estimation tender preparation and cost analysis for mechanical scopes.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze project drawings specifications and tender documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for mechanical works.
Prepare BOQ (Bill of Quantities) and cost breakdowns for piping mechanical equipment valves supports and installation services.
Coordinate with procurement engineering and construction teams for material take-offs and resource planning.
Identify project risks and propose cost-effective solutions and alternatives.
Participate in pre-bid meetings and clarify technical requirements with clients and consultants.
Prepare and submit technical and commercial bids within deadlines.
Update and maintain cost databases historical pricing records and estimation tools.
Support value engineering and cost-saving initiatives during the bidding phase.
Conduct post-tender reviews and handover to execution teams upon contract award.
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Piping Engineering.
Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in mechanical estimation for construction projects.
Experience in piping systems mechanical equipment installation and related infrastructure works.
Gulf/Saudi experience is highly preferred.
Key Skills Required:
Strong understanding of mechanical construction practices and material specifications.
Expertise in cost estimation software (e.g. CCS Candy Primavera or similar).
Excellent knowledge of piping codes (ASME API etc.) and mechanical standards.
Proficiency in reading P&IDs isometrics and general arrangement drawings.
Strong analytical negotiation and communication skills.
Ability to work independently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
