Job Summary
Job Title:Senior Bookeeper
Location: Remote U.S. EST work hours
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to support a growing accounting practice. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Xero with a strong grasp of accrual-based accounting and revenue recognition principles. This is a long-term opportunity for someone who is not only technically proficient but also ambitious and growth-oriented with the potential to step into a leadership position as the firm scales.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities across multiple client accounts.
Maintain accurate financial records including AP/AR reconciliations and month-end close.
Ensure compliance with revenue recognition and accrual-based accounting standards.
Prepare financial reports management accounts and client deliverables.
Collaborate with senior accountants to implement process improvements and automation.
Assist with onboarding new clients and maintaining high service quality across the portfolio.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting (5 years preferred).
Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Xero.
Solid understanding of revenue recognition accrual-based accounting and financial reporting.
High attention to detail accuracy and organization.
Excellent written and verbal English communication.
