EXPERIENCE: 6-8 years related experience

LOCATION: Hybrid: Midrand/Menlyn/Home Office rotation

Product / Feature Team: Commissioning Car Access and Theft Protection

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Degree in Computer Science Electrical Engineering or Engineering Disciplines with an IT emphasis (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Experience: 2 5 years in related areas such as IT-enabled resource planning software-driven E/E projects digitalization or automotive security.
  • Optional: Certifications (advantageous): IT security certifications (e.g. CISSP CISM) Azure/cloud certifications or software architecture certifications.
  • Optional: Strong understanding of E/E (ECUs diagnostics in-vehicle gateways) encryption algorithms and GROUP production IT processes.
  • Language: Very good English; German or other languages are a plus.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Proficient in English (written and spoken) with strong communication skills across all levels.
  • IT-centric problem-solving mindset with solid Java programming skills; ability to read understand and reason about software and hardware interfaces.
  • Strong software development mindset: ability to read understand and critique code and architecture documents.
  • Test and validation discipline: planning execution and validation of feature test cases; ability to think along in requirement-oriented test scenarios.
  • Agile working experience and familiarity with modern development toolchains (Confluence Jira Git Maven Nexus for CI/CD).
  • Ability to work with diagnose-based processes and data-driven decision making.
  • Highly motivated by automotive engineering and digitalization with a demonstrated passion for the industry.
  • Proactive collaboration with development stakeholders and the ability to operate in a cross-functional team.

ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of E/E concepts (ECUs diagnostics in-vehicle network access) to support feature implementation.
  • Cloud experience (Azure) including basic deployment monitoring and security considerations.
  • Experience with encryption algorithms and cryptographic concepts relevant to automotive security.
  • Knowledge of Automotive Security requirements and cryptographic practices beyond basics.
  • Familiarity with Group business and IT processes in a manufacturing environment especially E/E focus.
  • Multilingual capabilities with additional local languages as an asset.
  • Experience steering external teams or vendor-managed resources

WHAT WILL BE YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Software Development for Immobilizer Initialization
  • Design implement and maintain software components that initialize immobilizer functionality within the E/E network.
  • Collaborate with internal development teams to translate technical requirements into maintainable scalable code.
  • Adhere to GROUP coding standards architecture guidelines and security requirements.
Testing and Validation
  • Plan implement and execute comprehensive test strategies (unit integration end-to-end) for immobilizer initialization software.
  • Create and maintain test artifacts (test plans test cases traceability matrices) and ensure clear pass/fail criteria.
  • Validate software against safety reliability and security requirements document test results and drive issue resolution.
Collaboration with Plant and Development Stakeholders
  • Liaise with GROUP Rosslyn plant engineers IT security and QA teams to align on requirements and deployment plans.
  • Facilitate cross-functional reviews and ensure alignment of software releases with production schedules.
Deployment Readiness and Rollout Support
  • Prepare software for deployment in Rosslyn production environments coordinate pre-release validations and risk assessments.
  • Support on-site deployment activities including configuration integration testing and issue triage during rollout.
Documentation and Knowledge Transfer
  • Document software design decisions release notes deployment instructions and roll-out procedures.
  • Provide training and knowledge transfer to plant teams and operations staff as needed.
Compliance Security and Quality
  • Ensure compliance with automotive security standards encryption requirements and corporate governance.
  • Support quality audits and maintain traceability for requirements tests and approvals.
Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to optimize development testing and contractor workflows; contribute to process and tooling improvements.
Working Environment
  • Operate within a strong collaborative team and an agile working environment that emphasizes rapid iteration transparent communication and continuous improvement.
Contractor Coordination
  • Coordinate and steer external contractors involved in immobilizer software development and testing; ensure deliverables are met on time and aligned with GROUP IT/security policies.
