About the job

Advantra is partnering with a Series A AI marketing platform startup in San Francisco to hire a Platform Software Engineer to build and maintain infrastructure and developer-facing systems that empower product engineers and scale the platform.

About the role

You will design and implement platform features cloud infrastructure and dev-ops tooling to support product engineers. You will optimize backend workflows ensure reliability at scale and build developer tools that enable faster safer and higher-quality feature development. You will work closely with the core engineering team on high-impact initiatives.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain cloud infrastructure and platform services.
Develop developer-facing tools and internal systems to empower product engineers.
Optimize performance reliability and scalability of backend workflows.
Collaborate with product engineers to identify and implement platform improvements.
Contribute to job queuing data pipeline and messaging systems.
Participate in architecture design and decision-making.
Implement CI/CD pipelines and best practices for platform operations.
Monitor debug and resolve infrastructure and platform issues.
Provide guidance on tradeoffs between infrastructure changes and product impact.

Core requirements

Experience building cloud infrastructure dev-ops or platform systems at fast-growing companies.
Strong proficiency in Golang for backend development.
Experience with job queuing systems such as Kafka.
Proficiency with relational databases preferably PostgreSQL.
Cloud hosting experience preferably GCP.
Understanding of scalable system design and reliability engineering.
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
Startup mindset: pragmatic ownership-driven and collaborative.
Willingness to work in person in San Francisco 5 days/week.
Intellectual curiosity and passion for developer tooling.

Nice to have

Track record of side projects apps or hackathons.
Experience building developer tooling or APIs for internal teams.
Exposure to large-scale SaaS or marketing automation platforms.
Familiarity with CI/CD tooling and workflow automation.
Interest in optimizing system tradeoffs for cost performance and developer productivity.
