Overview
We are looking for a Release Engineer to join our technology team and help ensure smooth secure and reliable software releases across environments. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented organized and comfortable coordinating across multiple teams in a dynamic global environment.
This position operates primarily during 4:00 PM 1:00 AM EST aligning with cross-regional deployment windows and global team collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Release Coordination & Facilitation
- Lead and facilitate deployment calls ensuring all required technical and business stakeholders are present.
- Ensure deployment agendas checklists and procedures are properly documented and followed.
- Oversee the full release lifecycle - from planning and readiness checks to execution validation and post-deployment reviews.
- Track and ensure closure of change request tasks and associated documentation within ServiceNow.
Process Governance & Compliance
- Ensure all release activities comply with established change management security and release governance processes.
- Maintain up-to-date release documentation rollback plans and audit records.
- Participate in internal and external compliance reviews related to release management.
Tools & Technology
- Manage release pipelines and track deployment progress using Azure DevOps (ADO).
- Handle change requests approvals and workflow tracking via ServiceNow.
- Leverage Snyk or similar tools to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities prior to deployment.
Collaboration & Communication
- Serve as the central coordination point between development QA operations and security teams during releases.
- Communicate clearly and proactively regarding release status issues risks and outcomes.
- Support post-deployment reviews and lessons-learned sessions to drive process improvements.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related discipline.
Experience:
- 1 4 years of experience in release engineering DevOps or software configuration management.
Technical Knowledge
- Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) change management and security standards.
- Proficiency in Azure DevOps (ADO) ServiceNow and Snyk.
- Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and automated deployment processes (preferred).
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional organization and time management abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to facilitate meetings and create clear documentation.
- Proven ability to build strong cross-functional relationships.
- Conscientious detail-oriented and committed to following established standards and procedures.
